A Place to Belong - Music Festival

Our Choir delivered a memorable performance at Pennant Hills High School’s 60th Anniversary Music Festival, joining alumni and community singers for the premiere of the specially commissioned work, A Place to Belong. Together with student and community String Ensembles, their voices and music came together in a moving celebration of connection and belonging, beautifully capturing the spirit and significance of the school’s 60th anniversary.

2026 Reconciliantion Week - All In

As part of the NSW Department of Education’s All In for Reconciliation Week initiative, Pennant Hills High School came together to recognise National Reconciliation Week and strengthen understanding, respect and connection across our community. To mark the occasion, we welcomed our First Nations students and their families to a special morning tea in the library, where students, parents, carers and staff shared food, conversation and a meaningful opportunity to connect. The gathering reflected our ongoing commitment to reconciliation and to fostering a welcoming and inclusive school community.

Music Camp

Music Camp 2026 brought together 118 students from our bands, String Ensemble and Choir for three days of focused rehearsals, workshops and performance preparation at Galston Crusaders. Supported by specialist tutors and Ensemble Conductors, students developed their musical and ensemble skills, strengthened connections across year groups and welcomed our Year 7 musicians into the ensembles program. The camp concluded with a concert for family and friends, showcasing the students’ impressive progress and dedication. Thank you to our students, staff, tutors and everyone who contributed to a memorable Music Camp 2026.

Annual Swimming Carnival

The Annual Swimming Carnival was a fantastic day of competition, participation and school spirit, bringing the entire school community together in an electric atmosphere of enthusiasm, encouragement and house pride. Students had the opportunity to showcase their skills, challenge themselves and celebrate the achievements of their peers, creating a strong sense of belonging and connection. A particular highlight was celebrating our Year 12 students in their final school swimming carnival, with their creative costumes and spirited participation adding colour, energy and tradition to the day. The event highlighted the joy of coming together as a whole school while fostering teamwork, resilience and active participation in a positive and inclusive environment.

Year 12 Geography - Fieldwork Excursion

Year 12 Geography students recently visited Barangaroo as part of their study of Rural and Urban Places. Through fieldwork activities including mapping, water testing, observation and landscape sketching, students applied geographical tools and skills to collect and analyse primary data. The excursion strengthened students’ understanding of the characteristics, functioning and changing nature of urban places, while developing their skills in geographical inquiry and fieldwork. Thank you to Ms Tibbotts and Mrs Linehan for supporting this valuable learning experience.

Spirit Week 2026

Spirit Week was a great success and was a blast… TO THE PAST! Celebrating Penno’s 60th anniversary with a 60s-themed Spirit Week, the SLC hosted a week full of themed activities and good vibes.

Friday brought it all together with an awesome 60s-themed Multicultural Day. The day was a mufti day, and students were encouraged to dress in cultural attire or 60s clothing. Thankfully, the rain held out and the SLC was able to host an exciting range of food stalls. The atmosphere was electric, and we are stoked that we were able to celebrate our school spirit and community all together.

2026-2027 SLC Induction

Pennant Hills High School celebrated student leadership at our formal SLC Induction Assembly, acknowledging the outstanding contribution of our outgoing 2025–2026 Student Leadership Council and welcoming the incoming 2026–2027 team. We were delighted to welcome back 2019 School Captain David Brown, founder of the Blankets and Beanie Appeal, who shared valuable insights into service, leadership and the impact these skills can have beyond school. Incoming School Captains Matilda and Joshua also shared their vision for the year ahead. We sincerely thank outgoing Captains Jemimah and Spencer and their team for their dedication and service, and congratulate our new SLC as they begin their leadership journey.

Penno Winter Carnival - The Bandicoots

Our Music Ensembles and student bands took to the stage as part of the Penno Winter Carnival celebrations.

The afternoon featured performances from Concert Band 1, Concert Band 2, Big Band, Junior Stage Band, Strings and Choir, alongside the 60th Anniversary commissioned work, A Place to Belong, featuring students, alumni and community members.

Later in the day, student bands No Eye Deer and The Bandicoots entertained the crowd with songs from a variety of genres, supported by friends, family and the wider community.

Principal's Commendation - Year 11

Congratulations to our Year 11 students who were recognised with Principal’s Commendations for their outstanding commitment to learning and the positive contribution they make to our school community. These commendations recognise not only academic achievement, but also the leadership, integrity, kindness, resilience and perseverance demonstrated by our students. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing them continue to grow and strive for excellence as they prepare for their final examinations and the commencement of their HSC studies.

Bronze Adventurous Journey

Students participating in the Bronze level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award completed their Adventurous Journey in Term 3. The 28 students travelled by train to Berowra before walking to Crosslands for an overnight camp. On the second day, they continued from Crosslands to Asquith Station via Fishponds and Galston Gorge.

Congratulations to all students on successfully completing the Adventurous Journey section of the Award, and thank you to Ms Baker for her ongoing dedication and support.

60th Anniversary - Music Festival

Pennant Hills High School’s bands delivered an outstanding showcase at the 60th Anniversary Music Festival, with performances from Big Band, Junior Stage Band, and Concert Bands 1 and 2. From the dynamic sounds of the stage bands to the rich harmonies of the concert bands, our talented students demonstrated their skill, dedication and passion for music, contributing to a memorable celebration of the school’s 60th anniversary.

Congratulations Teodora - ARTEXPRESS 2026

The Secretary for Education, Mr Murat Dizdar, highlighted the exemplary HSC artwork of our very own Teodora. He shared that her piece had particularly resonated with him during his preview and congratulated her in front of the audience, inviting her to stand and respond to several questions.

ARTEXPRESS 2026 is a premier annual exhibition showcasing exceptional artworks created by New South Wales (NSW) students for their 2025 Higher School Certificate (HSC) Visual Arts examination. We are extremely proud of Teodora and congratulate her on this incredible achievement.

Zone Cross Country 2026

Close to 100 Pennant Hills High School students represented the school at the Zone Cross Country Carnival at St Ives Showground, demonstrating determination and resilience despite challenging wet conditions. Students competed across the 3km, 4km and 6km courses, with some outstanding performances throughout the day.

Australian Baseball Women Youth Championships

Congratulations to Year 9 student Skyla, who represented NSW at the Australian Youth Women’s Baseball Championships in Melbourne during the April school holidays, helping her team secure a bronze medal. Following 14 weeks of dedicated preparation, Skyla delivered a strong all-round performance throughout the tournament, contributing as an infielder, relief pitcher, batter and pinch runner. Her achievement is a wonderful reflection of her commitment, skill and dedication to her sport. Congratulations, Skyla!

World's Greatest Shave

The Student Leadership Council demonstrated their commitment to community service by leading Pennant Hills High School’s participation in the World’s Greatest Shave. With staff and students volunteering to shave or colour their hair, the event brought the school community together in support of vital blood cancer research. Through their leadership, fundraising efforts and advocacy, students helped raise more than $21,000, fostering empathy, social responsibility and a strong sense of community while making a meaningful contribution to an important cause.

Open Day 2026

Pennant Hills High School welcomed prospective students and their families to our annual Open Evening, providing an opportunity to experience our vibrant learning community. SLC representatives led school tours, while faculties showcased the diverse learning experiences and opportunities available across the school. The evening also featured performances from our talented Year 12 Music students and Concert Band 2, offering visitors a wonderful glimpse into our dynamic Music program. Thank you to our students and staff who helped create such a welcoming and engaging evening for our future families.

SLC Valentines Day

Love was in the air at Pennant Hills High School as students celebrated Valentine’s Day with chocolates, roses and many memorable serenades!

The PHHS SLC created a fun and festive atmosphere, bringing plenty of smiles and a wonderful sense of connection across the school.

Annual School Music Festival

The Music Festival was a huge success on the evening of Wednesday 11 June, where a very appreciative audience watched our Pennant Hills High School Music Ensembles perform in two concerts – Concert Band 1, Concert Band 2, Big Band, Junior Stage Band, the String Ensemble and the Choir.

Several of the HSC Music students also performed on the night, as well as four of our local Primary School Bands – West Pennant Hills PS, Pennant Hills PS, Normanhurst West PS and Thornleigh West PS.

Year 12 Graduation

Tonight we celebrate the culmination of 13 Years of formal schooling, 7 years at primary school and 6 years at high school. There are those amongst us who might be thinking well that is a bit six - seven .... But not me. It is a serious milestone that needs to and must be celebrated.

And so tonight, as we gather to honour your achievements and mark this important milestone, I want to talk about something that reaches beyond academic scores, sporting victories, or creative, performing and artistic success - something that speaks to the heart of life itself. The spirit we celebrate tonight is not just excellence at school, but excellence in living.

Spirit Week 2025

Congratulations to the entire Student Leadership Council for a fantastic Spirit Week. You managed the weather well and brought the school together to understand the origins of Spirit Week and celebrate our sensational Penno Pride.

Congratulations and thank you to Mr Thai, Ms Graham and Mr Banyai for their outstanding coordination of this special week. Their hard work, creativity and dedication supported our students before, during and after each event making the week a memorable experience for all.
