Attendance

Late Arrival

If arriving late, parents or caregivers must notify the school via the Sentral Parent Portal, email, or provide a written note with the student’s name and Year group.
Students must sign in at Student Reception and collect a late note before going to class.

Leaving Early

For early leave, parents or caregivers must notify the school via the Sentral Parent Portal, email , or a written note to Student Reception before 8:55am.
Requests must include the student’s name, date, and departure time. Students are to collect their leave pass prior to leaving the school grounds.

Absences

If a student is absent, parents or caregivers must notify the school via the Sentral Parent Portal, email, or by providing a written note that includes the student’s name and year group. Written notes should be placed in the Absence Notes box at Student Reception on the student’s first day back at school.

Medical Certificates

A medical certificate is required if a student is absent for three or more consecutive days due to illness. This can be uploaded via the Sentral Parent Portal, emailed to the school , or placed in the Absences Notes box at Student Reception.

Senior students who are absent on the day before or the day of an exam due to illness are required to submit a medical certificate.

Extended Leave – Travel

For leave of five or more consecutive school days, an Application for Extended Leave - Travel must be submitted for the Principal’s approval at least two weeks in advance.

Complete the form and email it, with proof of travel (e.g. flight or accommodation details), to pennanthil-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au.

Study Period - Senior Students

Senior students who have a study period in Period 1 may study at home but must sign in at Student Reception by 10.30am.

On all days, students may leave school to study at home after their final timetabled class.

Students may not leave school if they have any remaining timetabled classes later in the day.
