Our Science program, offers Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and general Science. Students explore the living and physical worlds through hands-on experiments and inquiry-based learning, developing scientific knowledge, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation for how science shapes our environment and everyday lives.
The Science faculty aims to equip students with the necessary skills, knowledge, values and attitudes to allow students to engage at many levels with the world of science.
Science
This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts of science through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Students explore topics such as forces and motion, the properties of matter, energy, Earth and space systems, and the diversity of living things.
Students study a wide range of topics, including the properties of matter, energy transformations, the structure of the Earth and the universe, and the diversity of living things. Through experiments and inquiry-based learning, they develop essential skills in scientific investigation, data analysis, and communication. The course helps students understand how science explains natural phenomena and informs technological and environmental decisions.

Agriculture
Stage 4 Agriculture is a short taster course that introduces students to the fundamentals of farming, with a focus on safety and animal handling. Students gain practical experience caring for farm animals, learning safe work practices, and developing skills in managing a small agricultural enterprise.
In Stage 5 Agriculture, students gain hands-on experience in food and fibre production through engaging, real-world activities. They work with our productive free-range egg enterprise and thriving vegetable gardens, exploring ethical and sustainable farming practices, crop management, and seasonal growing cycles.
The Year 11 course focuses on the interactions between the components of agricultural production, marketing, and management, applying these concepts to local enterprises.
In Year 12, students build on this foundation by examining the scientific and management principles behind modern agriculture, with a strong emphasis on productivity and environmental sustainability.
Biology

-
Stage 6 Biology at our school explores the diversity, functioning, and interdependence of living organisms and their environments. Students investigate key concepts such as cells as the basis of life, genetic variation, and biological evolution through hands-on experiments and fieldwork.
Chemistry
-
-
Stage 6 Chemistry at our school offers students the opportunity to explore the structure, composition, and reactions of substances that shape our world. Through practical investigations, data analysis, and real-world applications, students develop strong scientific and problem-solving skills.
Physics
-
-
Stage 6 Physics at our school examines the laws and principles that explain how the universe works, from the motion of everyday objects to the behaviour of matter and energy on a cosmic scale. Students explore topics such as forces, motion, waves, electricity, and modern physics through inquiry-based learning and practical experiments.
